"LOOK! UP IN THE SKY!  IT'S A BIRD! IT'S A PLANE!   IT'S SUPERMAN!

Yes it's Superman, strange visitor from another planet, who came to earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Superman, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel in his bare hands, and who disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper, fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice and the American way!"

Anyone who has ever listened to the radio show or watched the 1950's TV show with George Reeves remembers these famous words. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman and since his first appearance in Action Comics# 1 in 1938, he has appeared in other media as well; first in 17 Fleischer theatrical cartoons, a successful radio show, four television series (counting "Superboy" and the upcoming "Smallville"), 2 live-action movie serials and five feature films, with a sixth one being planned. Superman has also appeared in a few animated TV cartoons, a Broadway show, on record albums and CD movie scores by John Williams.

You will find many of these versions of the Man of Steel showcased in "Superman: From Krypton to Metropolis". including many rare photos of the Man of Steel.

Here are some other Superman sites that I highly recommend: the official DC COMICS site, Jim Nolt's THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE (about George Reeves), Gandalf's SUPERMAN CINEMA, Superman Hype, Superman V, The Voice, Steve Younis' unofficial SUPERMAN site, a few devoted to ABC's LOIS and CLARK, and one all about SUPERBOY in comic books and TV. You can find links to them on my Super-Links page.

"Superman In Action" (formerly the "Superman Scrapbook")   is dedicated to Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman, and those who has contributed to the Superman legend ever since; to Wayne Boring, whose artwork in the Superman comic books in the 1950's got me interested in the first place, and the George Reeves TV series, "ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN" for making me believe a comic book character could come "to life!". Superman In Action" has been online since October, 1999.
